I purchased the Nuvi 260 as a replacement for a High road Pilot 2610 which now has permanent placement on my motorcycle. It is an but for the fact that gps with a much sharper screen than the old 2610.
The “item by item” on the screen is quite different than on the 2610, in that a lot of confusion that shows on the 2610 doesn’t show on the Nuvi…things like all of the stores, bars, etc that you aren’t looking for do not escort on the screen of the Nuvi like they did on the 2610. Sometimes I miss that addendum information.
The voice is clear and the pronounciation is understandable if occasionally a dollop odd. It even pronounces the names of way points that you add to it’s matter base…nice.
Occasionally it does direct you along a direct that is a little strange compared to the route I would as a rule take…this is of course in an area where I mainly traveling…In finding locations from here in Nebraska to multifarious locations on a trip to California it worked flawlessly, even in determination some obscure hot springs on really remote roads.
I loaned it to my daughter for a faux pas she was making to find some warm weather…she loved it so much that I gave it to her and purchased a Nuvi 260 with the spacious screen for myself…the wide screen is nice, but I don’t manage the wide screen to be that much better, just larger.
I wouldn’t bear purchased the wider screen if it hadn’t been for a devoted sale locally that made it cost the same as the smaller protection.
