FE-4 Thirsk only Day 2 of its fourth ICV (Integrated cardiovascular) ambulatory monitoring session. Upon reaching the midpoint, the EF-4 ended Cardiopres / BP (blood pressure) data collection has changed HM2 (Holter Monitor 2) HiFi CF Card and AA Battery, and started the next 24 hours data collection, using the CEVIS ergometer to meet the requirements of the heart rate ICV. [ICV activities consist of two separate but connected over a period of one week: an ultrasound and ultrasound follow-up session ambulatory.During the first 24 hours (while all the appliances were worn), ten minutes of quiet rest are breathing timelined collect data for a specific analysis. The exercise includes at least nominal 10 minutes at a heart rate ≥ 120 bpm (beats per minute). After 24 hours, the Cardiopres was removed and the HM2 HiFi CF Card and AA Battery has been changed to allow the continuation of the session for another 24 hours with batteries Makita switched as needed. After data collection is complete, and the two Actiwatch HM2 HiFi CF cards are downloaded to the HRF PC1, while data are downloaded Cardiopres the EPM (European Physiology Module) Rack and transferred to PC1 HRF via a USB for the downlink. The sessions are planned in or around FD14, FD30, FD75, FD135 and R-15 (there will be fewer sessions, if this mission duration is less than six months). The FD75 ultrasound has an exercise component with a second scan (sub-set of the first) were completed within 5 minutes after the end of the year. The main purpose of accompanying CCISS (cardiovascular control back from the ISS), the experiment is to maximize information on changes in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular functions that could compromise the ability of astronauts to the challenge of return to upright posture on Earth.

Beware of...

First, there are a host of low end ministeppers and minicycles. I have used a few and must say that I can't imagine that they do anything for you, or at least, for me. I remember using a mini stepper a few times and deciding that just marching in place offers a better workout.

To me, that is an example of cheap exercise equipment that's not even worth the price. But if they work for you, go for it.

Specific travel exercise equipment * I would bring along a good set of resistance bands (exercise bands, strength bands). They are extremely light, compact and are useful. They are also cheap exercise equipment, ranging from a $10 to $100 or so. My advice is to get the upper end and use them to supplement your other exercise sessions.

* Here's a product that intrigued me. Aqua weights . Yep, you guessed it. Collapsed plastic stuff you could fill with water to make a small weight set.

Here too, you could use the equipment at home when you get back.

* Finally, any exercise dvd can be easily packed and assuming you have the necessary equipment. Just choose your favorite yoga, aerobic or calisthenic dvd.

Following is a link to a dvd you may enjoy. I've occasionally worked out to Leslie Sansone's walking videos when I couldn't walk outdoors and did not wish to do some other program.

I found the workouts to be gentle, yet intense and you can choose whichever distance you will be walking.
